Our largest challenge in organizing this tour is finding enthusiastic garden hosts. If you are one, know one, or want to be one, we would love to hear from you!
The Patchwork Quilt and Garden Tour is a one-day, drive-yourself tour of unique gardens in the Hastings, MN area featuring beautiful plants and exquisite quilts on display. This wild idea is organized by Stephanie Girgen and Brandy Wentzler. The purpose of the tour is to bring people together to enjoy and be inspired by the color, creativity, design and passion that overlap between the worlds of gardening and quilting. The first Patchwork tour was held in August 2022, and was so well received, we brought it back in August 2023, and again in June 2024.

Brandy Wentzler is both a self-taught gardener and sewist. She’s not afraid to try new things and she is brave enough to continue after making many mistakes. Brandy works at the Pleasant Hill Library in Hastings and often brings home many garden, sewing, crafting and cook books in an effort to make new mistakes and learn more stuff!
Steph has a curious brain and collects hobbies, ideas and experiences like shiny objects. She is a lifelong gardener, a beginning quilter, and is appreciative of the heritage that both of these practices have in her family tree. She looks for beauty in the world and then tries to create more of it.
